LABC Building Excellence Awards

Some delightful news to receive: BANES Building Control are nominating one of our recent projects works near Bath for a LABC Building Excellence Award in the category of ‘Best Residential Extension’. A lovely moment of recognition for all the hard work from our clients, contractors and wider team.

Planning submitted!

We've just submitted a new timber clad extension to a Wiltshire farm, which will provide a delightful new family space. Fingers crossed for a positive (and timely) decision from Wiltshire Council!

We're underway!

Construction is now underway in Corsham for extensions and alterations to a beautiful Victorian villa. We're all very excited to see this project moving on site and bringing new life to a characterful historic home.

Planning approved!

Some brilliant news through from Wiltshire Council that a new-build home in the Cotswold National Landscape AONB has just been approved. Congratulations to our (very patient!) clients, and we'll be starting our technical information shortly as we approach construction.

LABC Completion Certificate received

We’re delighted to say another project has been completed and certified. Our eco-friendly restoration and retrofit to a historic agricultural building now provides glorious comfort to our Clients.

Final Certificate issued

We've just issued our Final Certificate for works to renovate and extend a Listed Building in the Cotswolds. Congratulations to our clients, all at Wraxall Builders and their team of dedicated and hard-working sub-contractors - it’s been a fantastic project to be involved with!

Say hello to Aaron!

Aaron enjoys a strong interest in conservation, retrofit and sustainable design, and has been a valued addition to our team.
He’s gained hands-on experience working on heritage and community projects across Bath, including conservation work at the Victoria Art Gallery and the Roman Baths.

Since joining the studio on placement, Aaron has been getting involved across projects, often bringing them to life through models with his real appreciation for craft and detail.

A little dance of light.

There’s something special about when a project reaches Final Certificate stage. It allows a moment of reflection on another finished project, and it’s a delight to see it performingexactly what it was designed to do.

For all the drawings, models, decisions, craftsmanship and collaboration, there’s nothing quite like seeing the lines come to life with an actual building. Materials weather in beautifully, light moves across and animates, and clients connect with places they’ve made their own.

Our thanks again to our clients and @clementsbuildingcontractorsltd for all their hard work on this one.

It’s not always about the architecture.

We’re always thinking about how a project sits within its landscape — how it connects to what’s already there, and how it can gently improve and connect with the site.

That means looking beyond the architecture: integrating biodiversity and sustainability from the start to create spaces that genuinely support both people and wildlife, and help leave a place better than when we first found it.

Aaron’s been a model member of the team since he’s joined us, putting our new @bambulab_official 3D printer through its paces.

Models let us quickly test ideas — mass, light, proportions — all in one go. And nothing beats picking a building up, turning it around, and seeing instantly what works (and what really doesn’t).

Plus, they’re a lot more fun than staring at a screen all day!
